HOW DID I GET HERE?
From a very young age I knew I wasn't meant to be stuck inside a cubicle or at a corporate office. I knew I wanted to live life by my own rules and do so unapologetically. I grew up with a strong love for anything art related having picked up all sorts of different creative mediums. Including playing music, graphic design and of course, photography.
During my early highschool years I began working as a freelance graphic designer and shot photos for some of the projects I would work on. The more I worked with photography, the more I realized that this was what I really wanted to do. Halfway through my senior year I decided to cut out design from my business.
What started off as something I did on the side quickly snowballed into so much more and thus Roy Rivas Photography was born. I went on to study photography at Boston University's Center of Digital Imaging Arts. Fast forward a few years and here we are. Safe to say 13-year old Roy would be proud of where I am today.
I'M SO STOKED AND BEYOND GRATEFUL TO LIVE THE LIFE I LIFE AND BE ABLE TO DO WHAT I LOVE FOR A LIVING.
Photography to me is a lot more than just a job. It has become something that shapes my day to day life. Photography has allowed me to consistently do three things that I am extremely passionate about: experience new places, meet genuine people and live life by my own rules.

Q: MY WEDDING ISN'T IN NEW ENGLAND, COULD YOU STILL SHOOT MY WEDDING?
A: I may be based in New England but I will travel far and wide to photograph your special day. Whether that means driving out of state or flying across the world, reach out to me and we'll make it happen!
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS?
A: After shooting your wedding, my main priority is hand-editing your photos and getting them to you as soon as possible! So don't you worry, you won't have to wait months for your photos but only 3-6 weeks until you receive your full wedding gallery! If you're real eager to see your wedding photos make sure to stay posted on my social media pages to catch some sneak peeks!
Q: CAN WE ORDER PRINTS OR GET AN ALBUM AFTER?
A: Absolutely! I have wedding packages with prints included but if you decide you want more prints after the fact, all wedding galleries are enabled with online ordering so you can purchase prints whenever you'd like! As for wedding albums, shoot me an email at any point and we can get your album designed, printed and in your hands!
Q: WHERE WILL MY PORTRAIT SESSION BE?
A: That's totally up to you! Whether you want to shoot at the park you played at when you were a kid or maybe you want something more urban, you say the word and i'll be there for your shoot! Having a hard time picking a location? Don't stress it, just tell me what you have in mind for your shoot and I will find the perfect place for you!
Q: WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY TO SCHEDULE MY SHOOT?
A: There is nothing better than the magical light that comes with golden hour! Booking your shoot an our or two before sunset will ensure that you get the most beautiful, flattering light.
Q: WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY PHOTOS AFTER MY PORTRAIT SESSION?
A: After your shoot is done expect your photos within 2-3 weeks! That time is used to hand edit all of your photos and make sure every photo you get is the best it can be! Once you get your photo gallery, feel free to download your photos and show the world!
